Comprehensive, Gentle Treatments for the Entire Family

Dental Services

We moved into our newly remodeled office here in Wilkes-Barre, PA in 2014. To ensure you receive personalized care and treatments, we take the time to get to know you and your goals for your smile. Each member of our team genuinely cares about your health and wellbeing — patient satisfaction is our top priority.

Dental Checkups/Cleanings

An important part of maintaining great oral health and dental hygiene is attending regular dental appointments. During these visits, we examine your mouth, teeth, and gums for any signs of cavities or abnormalities. We will also clean your teeth, remove any tartar or plaque buildup, and provide you with the resources your need to maintain good at-home oral health habits. This helps prevent dental problems later in life.

Fluoride Treatments

Fluoride is a naturally occurring mineral which helps strengthen your teeth and prevents cavities from forming. It is usually added to the water we drink, but sometimes this isn’t enough to give your teeth the amount they need to build up enamel. Our team will work together with you to make sure you and your loved ones receive the right amount of fluoride to keep your teeth healthy.

Composite Fillings

We use white or tooth-colored fillings to repair teeth affected by decay, cracks, fractures, and so on. The composite material is carefully matched to the shade of your existing tooth in question. Filling your tooth can be done in just one appointment, which will restore the health and aesthetic to your tooth.

Crowns

A dental crown or cap is used to restore a tooth which has been damaged by injury or decay, and cannot be restored with a filling. The crown covers the entire tooth’s surface and restores it to its original shape and size. Crowns help protect and strengthen tooth structure.

Veneers

This restoration option is designed to help your smile look its best. Veneers are custom-made and shaped in a dental laboratory and can be used to correct crooked teeth and misalignments. The veneer is permanently bonded to your teeth, which makes your smile flawless and beautiful for years to come. Veneers are resistant to discoloration and are almost undetectable because it takes on the natural color of your tooth.

Root Canals

Root canal therapy is used to restore a tooth after its inner nerve has been affected by decay or infection. A root canal will not cause any future problems with adjacent teeth, and restores full functionality to the tooth and mouth.

Fixed Bridge Work

This is a non-removable dental appliance used to replace a missing tooth or teeth. It helps restore functionality to your bite by filling in gaps between teeth. This also prevents your remaining teeth from shifting — when left untreated, gaps in the mouth can result in pain, discomfort, and an unsightly smile.

Dentures & Partials

Dentures and partials are removable dental appliances created to replace missing teeth. These play an important role in keep the mouth and teeth in frame when one or more teeth are missing. We work with highly qualified labs to ensure you receive dentures that are customized to your needs. We are committed to providing you with a complete, functional smile.

Implant Crowns

When properly maintained, dental implant restorations provide you with a permanent replacement to missing teeth. This procedure involves inserting a titanium post into the bone below the gums, which then provides a replacement crown, bridge, or prosthetic with a solid foundation. Our practice provides the final restoration service and will work with your periodontist to coordinate treatments.

Zoom! Whitening

This teeth whitening system offers you immediate and professional results. It uses advanced technology to remove stains and reveals a radiant, bright smile. One of the many benefits of this system is it does not require bleach to whiten your teeth. Instead, it uses a special whitening gel that is activated by a specially-designed light. This treatment is safe, effective, and fast — it produces results in just over an hour, and for most patients, their teeth continue to lighten for the first few days after the procedure.

Dental Technology

As part of our commitment to providing the best care to our patients, Dr. Joseph has invested in the most up-to-date technology. This helps make our dental treatments be more efficient, effective, pain- and stress-free for you.

DIAGNOdent

This system is used to find changes and cavities in tooth enamel structure. It uses laser scanning to detect even the smallest lesions and cavities within your teeth. It is useful in diagnosing decay in its earliest stages and complements our traditional oral examinations.

Digital Radiology

X-rays are another important diagnostic tool we use in our practice. Digital radiography uses electronic sensors to capture digital images of your teeth. This provides a safer alternative to traditional x-ray technology, as it uses significantly less radiation, does not expose you to harmful chemicals, and allows us to view your scans almost instantaneously.

Intraoral Camera Technology

Intraoral cameras are utilized to better evaluate the condition of your teeth and gums. It is about the size of a pen and allows us to monitor how effective our treatments are and if your at-home hygiene habits are helping you maintain your dental health. In addition, this technology allows us to document any changes in your mouth and provide documented information to other doctors and specialists, as well as your insurance agency.

Panorex

Panorex technology allows us to take an x-ray of both the upper and lower jaws and teeth on the same film. This gives us the information needed to inform you about your treatment options, as well as the state of your oral health.

Picasso Soft Tissue Laser

Laser dentistry techniques are less invasive and make treatment easier for our patients. With this system, we are able to provide our patients with the most pain-free, effective soft gum tissue surgery. Another advantage to using this system is that it allows for a faster recovery for the patient.
